The foundation of Entrepreneurial intention



Entrepreneurial intention relates to that the intentions leads to individual behaviours. It could also be said that the intentions could show or predict the likely behaviour of an entrepreneur, as well as, the organizational outcomes. According to Bird starting new ventures or creation of new value in existing one, are the two main outcomes related to entrepreneurial intent.

Formation of entrepreneurial intentions due to:

·      Individual domains, such as personality and motivation.

·      Contextual variables, such as markets and economics.

·      Psychological characteristics: risk taking and entrepreneurial self-efficacy.

·      Environmental influences: industry opportunities and Market heterogeneity

·      Environmental support:  infrastructure, political and financial support


The entrepreneurial intention is predominant when it comes to starting an organization. His intentions determine the form and direction of the organization itself.

Other scholars argue that attitudes are the main reasons that lead to entrepreneurial intention.
